Eid Al Adha

Eid Al Adha is the second holy festival in Islam. It is observed by Muslims across the world to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's sacrifices. It also marks the end of the period of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, which is the birthplace of the Islamic religion. One of the Five Pillars of Islam requires every Muslim to perform the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait and other Arab nations have announced the celebration of Eid al-Adha on July 9.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has also asked the official in charge of the UAE Hajj pilgrimage mission about the well-being of the country’s pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. He talked with Dr Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, about the safety and comfort of pilgrims. He also shared greetings and best wishes to the pilgrims.

The UAE launched an online permit service on the Al Hosn App for pilgrims in cooperation with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments with the aim to facilitate Hajj procedures and save pilgrims’ time.
